1) Play Games
Not with people’s mind but on your cellphone. Or any outdoor activity works too. Just make your mind occupied so that you distract yourself from food or even thoughts of food. It’s hard to imagine something else if you specifically play brain games on your phone.
2) Consider your actions
What happens when you’re craving for a delicious hamburger loaded with cheese? You eat it. What happens later? You gain weight, have your heart at risk or simply look fat in front of a mirror. Anytime you feel like having something you should NOT be having, just try and think about the consequences. That ought to help.
3) Take a walk
Walking briskly for 15 minutes reduces cravings for any food. Yes, it really does work. Researchers say exercise could alter brain chemicals that help regulate cravings. So, next time you have a craving, just go for a simple walk and you’ll be sorted.
4) Eat in front of a mirror
How many times have you promised yourself you’ll stop eating junk whenever you’re naked in front of a mirror? COUNTLESS! So start eating in front of a mirror, that will make you conscious and that will end up you giving up the food that will DEFINITELY cause you harm in near future.
5) Destroy your most tempting foods, LITERALLY
If you’ve succumbed to a craving and bought a box of cookies or some other trigger food and start to feel bad while eating it, destroy it. “Don’t just throw it away; run water over it, ruin it. You’ll feel a sense of accomplishment that you’ve licked your binge. You'll find yourself in so much guilt afterwards, for wasting food that you love so much, that next time you won't even buy it. Problem solved.
6) Take a nap
It’s more like “sleep on it”. I know it’s not easy to sleep if you’re hungry but if you look at it, you’re not actually hungry but are craving for your favorite food. Shut the door, close your eyes, re-energize. In fact, a good night’s sleep, will help banish those sugar cravings, in particular.
7) Go nuts for nuts
Nuts are literally a power house. Different kind of nuts give out different kinds of energy and benefits. Drink two glasses of water and eat an ounce of nuts (6 walnuts, 12 almonds or 20 peanuts). Within 20 minutes, this can extinguish your craving and dampen your appetite by changing your body chemistry.
