Bollywood has always been known for its entertainment factor and songs are one of the most important aspects in Bollywood films. When it comes to songs, Bollywood always has some trend going on. Until a couple of years ago, there was a trend of songs with names like Munni, Sheila, Anarkali, Jalebi Bai, Laila, etc; now a new trend of “bum” has started.
Yep, you got me right! Bum, butt, booty, derriere, call it whatever you want to. It seems to have grabbed the fancy of many a lyric writer in B-town. Check out this “bum-bastic” list we’ve compiled:
Bum Pe Laat – ‘Himmatwala’
This is where it all began! ‘Bum Pe Laat’ from the super-dud film ‘Himmatwala’. Though the film was surely one of the most horrible films made in Bollywood, one cannot deny that the song ‘Bum Pe Laat’ was fun. Maybe this is why other lyric writers also followed suit and got “bumspired”!

One, Two, Three, Four – ‘Chennai Express’
We guess, the lyricist of the song ‘One, Two, Three, Four’ from Shahrukh Khan ‘Chennai Express’ had carefully written the lyrics of the song. When you hear this song for the first time, you might not even realize that this song has a connection with the derriere. Well, the lyrics are: “1 2 3 4 – get on the dance floor, Booty shake, booty shake, Dappan koothu hard core.” The word booty is so smoothly incorporated into the song that it’s not on your face, thereby helping the word stealthily get away!
Tooh – ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’
‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ is surely a film you’d like to erase from your memory, but the songs of the film were enjoyable. One of the most loved songs in the film was ‘Tooh’ (Punjabi word for Bum). And mind you, it wasn’t just a line or two about bums, but the whole song was a tribute to the derriere, we feel. How else would you justify these lines – “Gore gore naughty-naughty round-round tooh, Punjabiyan de tooh, Sharabiyan se tooh, Gore gore nikke-nikke tere-mere tooh.”

Butt Patlo – ‘O Teri’
Our young guys of Bollywood, Pulkit Samrat and Bilal Amrohi, along with a bevy of slim firangs, also did a song revolving around the bum. The song titled ‘Butt Patlo’ was totally dedicated to the ladies with slim bums.
Engine Ki Seeti Mein Mharo Bum Dole – ‘Khoobsurat’
Sonam Kapoor looked really beautiful in the film ‘Khoobsurat’ and also shook her khoobsurat bum in the song ‘Engine Ki Seeti Mein Mharo Bum Dole’. The actress danced extremely well in this song in tune with the engine ki seeti. In fact, in another song of the same film ‘Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai’, there’s a line that I’m sure you must have not missed – “Humein Rok Ke Dikhaaye Jiske Bum Hai Dum”. Yep! Another song where Sonam calls attention to her bum!
Shake Your Bootiya – ‘Finding Fanny’
‘Shake Your Bootiya’ from ‘Finding Fanny’ is one of the most hilarious songs made using the word ‘Bootiya’ (Bum). Not only are the lyrics of the song funny, but visually too the track is interesting and hooking! It was used as a promotional song in the film and the concept of the track is amazing. This song really makes us shake our bootiya.
Shake That Booty – ‘Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya’
If ‘Shake Your Bootiya’ is one of the funniest songs revolving around bum, then ‘Shake That Booty’ from ‘Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya’ is surely one of the hottest songs based on the derriere. The song features none other than the bootylicious Sunny Leone, who automatically sends the temperatures soaring with her sheer presence and pelvic thrusts.
