If you’re like me, then you probably like to have your early morning coffee without being disturbed. And if you like to use a different mug everyday (like I do!) then I’ve got a perfect DIY trick for you! Oh, by the way, this could also be useful on days when you’re low on budget and you need to get a good gift for your friend. Have you guessed it yet? A DIY watercolour coffee mug!
That’s right, these are so easy-to-make and you can personalize it any way you want! So let’s go straight to the tutorial…

What you’ll need:
A plain white mug
A bowl of lukewarm water
A few nail polishes (a minimum of 2)
A few toothpicks
Step 1: Pour the first nail polish in the bowl and let it spread on the surface of the water.
Step 2: Repeat step one with the second nail polish and if you’re using more, repeat the same with them.
Step 3: This step has to be quick! Use a toothpick to swirl the nail paints around in the bowl of water and make a random pattern.
Step 4: Take your mug and turn it to position it in place. The part where you want to paint it should face the water in the bowl.
Step 5: Now dunk your mug in the bowl ever-so-gently and wait for a few seconds before removing it out of the bowl…
And ta-da! Look at the gorgeous pattern on the mug! Isn’t it wonderful? Be sure to let it dry for 2 or 3 hours before adding a clear top coat nail polish to it (just for safety sakes).
