Raksha Bandhan is just a day away, and until today I was still confused about which rakhi to buy for my brothers. There are just too many options in the market and I couldn’t seem to find the perfect one. That’s when I decided to make the rakhis on my own! What could be more special than a handmade rakhi made with love. And I managed to make the perfect rakhi for my brothers, exactly the way I wanted. I know they will love it because I gave each rakhi a special touch according to the tastes of my siblings. You will need:

A lion sticker in yellow

Satin ribbon

Glue

Felt adhesive stickers cut in a circle

Method: Stick the Lion sticker on a felt cut out circle, then place a red satin ribbon in between the two stickers. Stick the Satin ribbon in place using glue. Let it dry. The cutest lion rakhi for your nat-khat brother is ready!

You will need:

2-3 pieces of cardboard cut into the shape of flowers

Scissors

Satin ribbon

Glue

Glitter

Plain paper

Method: Once you are happy with the shape of your cardboard flowers, stick a piece of plain paper on them using glue and trim the sides with a pair of paper scissors to make sure the shape is the same. Next, Add more glue on the plain paper and sprinkle the glitter on it. Let it dry completely before moving on. Once dried, stick the glittery flowers as you like, on the satin ribbon using glue. Tie the funky glittery on your cool brother’s wrist and delight him like never before.

Purple crystal sequin with holes to sew

Satin ribbon

Circle cut-outs of purple and yellow felt (One circle smaller than the other)

Scissors

Needle and thread

Method: Place the satin ribbon between the two felt circles, one kept on top of the other, and stick it with glue. Once dried, stick the crystal sequin on the felt and let it dry. Next, use a needle and thread to fix the crystal in place on the satin ribbon by sewing through the holes. This simple and elegant rakhi will make your elder brother proud.
