She may never say it, but we will! Every girl’s biggest dream is her perfect proposal. But the biggest question that most of my guy friends are asking me is, “How do I make the proposal special for her?” It’s not like our boys lack the romance and creativity, but sometimes when you want to please someone special, it’s okay to feel nervous. If you don’t want to go the traditional way of getting down on one knee (trust me, girls still swoon over this!), you could try one of these ideas to propose your girl this Valentine’s Day.
Private candle-lit dinner: This one is a classic. For those of you who feel simplicity is the best bet for you and your girl, a private candle-lit dinner would guarantee a bright smile on her face. You don’t have to have it at a fancy restaurant, just call her up and give a convincing reason for her to come over and visit you. Surprise her by answering the door in your best clothes with her favorite flowers. A little bit of pre-planning would work well. Set a table for two at her favorite spot in your house, light candles and dim all the lights. You could order for her favorite cuisine or cook up something simple (you’ll find several quick and easy recipes here) Propose her after or during the dinner and she will literally live her dream!

Pen it down: If you have a flair for writing and are a true romantic at heart, what better way than to pen something beautiful and romantic especially for her! Send her romantic love letters with a bouquet of flowers 2-3 days before the Valentine’s Day and meet her in person on the D-day with a gift and she’ll be completed bowled over!

Public proposal: If you are not the shy type guy (and nor is she), then a public proposal will blow her mind off. Declaring your undying and ever-growing love for her in public will make sure she never ever forgets this day. Choose her favorite place where you both have lots of memories, or pick the place where you first saw her, ask a few of her friends to help you out and have them play her favorite romantic songs on an iPod or ask them to record a video of her reaction as you go down on one knee and pop the question!

T-shirt proposal: This could be a cool idea to surprise her. Wear a plain white T-shirt with a message like “Baby, I want you forever. Be mine!” or get creative with our message (use a marker pen to write it down on the tee) and wear a jacket on top of it so it’s not visible. Take her to a place that has a romantic feel and unbutton (or unzip) your jacket to reveal your love message to her. This proposal may seem cheesy but it will guarantee you a ‘Yes’!
Radio proposal: Girls love it when guys do something out of the ordinary for them. Try doing something she would never have thought of. Drive her to a special place, put on the radio and ask her to wait for a min (pretend you need to make an important call). Then call up the local radio channel that she’s listening to and request them to let you say a few words of love to your girl (they’ll be more than glad to let you). Surprise her by declaring your love! Don’t be surprised if she gives you a huge hug as you sit back in the car!
YouTube proposal: Everybody surfs on YouTube these days. So why not use it as a medium to express your feelings? Record a video of you proposing her and upload it on YouTube. Make sure to give it a confusing title. Then send her an email on her official id (or one that she is sure to check) with ‘URGENT’ or ‘IMPORTANT’ written in the subject box and the link to the video in the mail. Just imagine what her reaction will be when she opens it!
So there you have it! Choose an idea that works for you or come up with one of your own. Don’t keep her waiting, the right time is NOW!
