A soft, fluffy 2-egg omlette made with the tiniest amount of olive oil (three cheers for healthy!) is the perfect way to start your day. A good healthy tip would be to skip the slices of bread and choose a light moong-dal chhilla instead!

Not everybody may be fond of dalia, but the truth is that it’s low in fats and cholesterol and quite high in iron, fiber and carbs. It’s really simple and quick to make; and if you just add a dash of lime, it tastes way better than anything else!

This popular Maharashtrian breakfast is my personal favorite. Poha is light on the stomach but filling at the same time so you can eat that extra portion without worrying about a bloated belly. (Psst, but if you do have a bloated belly problem, try this water).

A classic south Indian staple that’s a favorite of people all around the country! Idli is made with fermented rice; and the best part is that it is steamed making it easily digestible. A great source of carbohydrates and protein it fills you up in minimum calories.

Everybody loves a good crispy, healthy dosa! A richer cousin of the idli, dosas make for a yummilicious breakfast option for people seeking to lose weight. However, ensure your dosa isn’t loaded with oil, butter or potato!
