After the abdomen, the next most vulnerable part to body fat deposit is the thighs. And they are the most unsightly to look at with cellulite and stretch marks all over them (ew)! If you have been struggling to tone your thighs without desirable results, it’s high time you switch to methods that are more promising and make you lose thigh fat quickly and easily. Keep reading for a few of the methods that considerably tone down your thighs.

1. Yoga: Yoga has earned quite a following when it comes to ease both mental and physical distress. Not only that, but yoga can also help you get in shape and remain healthy. Just like exercise, certain yoga poses help you to lose fat in your thighs by aiding the fat burning process. A bonus is the strength and flexibility that it provides us with!
Tree pose: This is one yoga pose that specifically targets the hamstrings and quadriceps is the tree pose. It’s one of the easiest pose that anyone without prior experience in yoga can perfect. Try doing it once every day for 5-10 minutes. Stand with your feet together and your right foot planted firmly on the ground. Press your palms together in front of your chest and lift your left leg to let it rest flat on your inner right thigh.
Warrior III: This may look a bit difficult to master but with practice you can easily get the balance required for this pose. Stand with your right foot placed firmly on the ground and lean forward slowly lifting your left leg backwards and join your palms up ahead of your head. You should form the letter ‘T’ with your body and left leg parallel to the floor and the right leg standing perpendicular. Hold the position for 30 seconds and increase the time as you feel more comfortable. Ideally you should be able to do 3 minutes per leg.

2. Cardio: Losing weight from any part of your body requires you to burn calories and overall body fat. And heart pumping cardio is going to make that happen! Since you want to lose fat from your thighs, choose cardio activities like running, bicycling and jumping rope (skipping) as these also tone the legs while you’re doing them. For faster results, increase your incline as your walk, or cycle, (take the stairs at home or work) the increase in your heart rate means you’re burning more fat. Exercising on a upward inclined surface also targets your hamstrings and butt apart from your thighs, thereby toning your over all lower body. Don’t forget to practise some toning exercises too. The cardio is sure stripping off the extra fat, but want to reveal toned muscles underneath it.
3. Contact sports: Engage in some contact sports like kickboxing, muay thai, taekwondo or karate in your spare time. Kicking hard puts a lot of stress and tension on the muscles and puts them to work which helps in burning fat. Apart from burning fat they also improve your lower extremities and make for a great whole body workout which makes you sweat and lose fat faster. Not to mention they could teach you a few defensive moves should the need arise to use them.
Apart from the measures stated above, do keep a track of what you eat and never skip a meal.
