Make a style statement in black
All designers agree that black is a universal fashion staple. Whether your style is lady-glam or rock-chic, black can easily be your go-to colour this season. According to me, black is a great colour to have especially because you can own so many variations of it in your wardrobe. While a little black dress or LBD is great for your club outings, the Goth look can add chutzpah to your personality, if carried off well.

Let us show you how to flaunt two classic looks and turn heads, with a little bit of help from black.
The rock-chic look:
This Goth inspired rock-chic look is so edgy and audacious that it wouldn't be your cup of tea if you are faint-hearted. Go to the next look if so. However, if you're game for it, be ready to put behind the Christian Dior fashion that worked in post-war period; instead, go for leather. Yes, you heard us... pick any leather of your choice be it faux or real. The best ones would be a pair of body hugging leather pants with sequinned bomber jackets and rocker tees. Get the look fixed with proper makeup, and accessorize well. Spiked black pumps must definitely be the choice of footwear. Beware, you could go wrong if you over-do it – stay away from ghoulish eye makeup and bold lips paired together – try to sport subtle smokey eyes in charcoal grey and keep the lips matte in sandy shades or nudes. Red lips are a strict no-no unless you're going to a Halloween party.

The sexy glam look:

Sure this look has been repetitive on the red carpets. But that is only because it's so classic and quintessential that you will never tire of wearing it and people will never tire of looking at you! You can do so much with this look, perk it up with a black chiffon sari and diamonds or choose the LBD's elder sister, the day-time gown a la Aishwarya Rai or Angelina Jolie, on the red carpet. For a diva inspired look, choose bright crimson lips or shades of burgundy. Play the dewy eyes and take your glam quotient several notches higher.
Apart from these two glamorous looks, you can even incorporate black in your casual wardrobe. Opt for different types of shrugs in black, pair them with a classy sleeveless top and a pair of your favourite denims. Eyeliner MUST be black. Period. Black boots and nails too are hot this season. Shop on the streets for chunky black jewellery to accessorize your work attire.
