But why depend upon the restaurants and foodstuff brands to serve you a preservative-laden sauce, when you can easily stir up one in your very own kitchen! Yes, you heard me; this recipe for delicious homemade schezwan sauce will save your life! Celery leaves

150 gms whole dry red chillies (paste)

100 gms chopped garlic

50 gms chopped ginger

2 green chillies finely chopped

1 tbsp vinegar

2 tsp sugar

Salt to taste

5 tbsp tomato ketchup

½ cup oil

Method: Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the garlic and sauté for a min. Next add green chillies and ginger and cook just until the smell of ginger garlic goes away but it should not change colour. Now add the dry red chilli paste. Add celery leaves and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame. Now add vinegar, salt, sugar and tomato ketchup and cook until the sauce forms a layer of oil on the top. Finally, add the food colour and give it a stir.
