Cream Cheese Cookies
1 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup unsalted butter
8oz cream cheese
1 egg (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 tsp baking powder
3 1/2 cup flour
Combine all the ingredients except flour in a large deep mixing bowl with an electric mixer. Beat the mixture until you have a smooth batter. Next, sift the flour over the mixture and gently fold it in until completely blended. Your cookie dough is ready! Chill the dough in the fridge overnight. This takes only 10 minutes to prepare and throw it in the fridge. Bake your cookies the next morning in a pre-heated oven at 190 degrees C.
For an extra touch of love, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into heart-shaped cookies before placing them on a cookie sheet. An expert way to make baking easy is to roll the freshly prepared dough in a baking sheet (in the shape of a log) before you place it in the fridge. Your dough would come out firm and it would be easy (and much quicker) to cut round slices of cookies with a greased sharp knife.
Cool the cookies completely to room temperature before icing them.
