Nothing can uplift your mood on a gloomy day better than chocolate. It’s one of those rare things that go well with absolutely anything else! Strawberries, biscuits, or even bread! The marriage of crusty bread and chocolate was consummated many years ago in Europe, but believe it or not, this quick chocolate sandwich goes a step further. Here’s the recipe!
1 teaspoon fine granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
4 slices of sandwich bread
50 gms bittersweet or semisweet chocolate bar (chopped)
2 scoops of vanilla ice cream (optional; for serving)

Method: Get your grill pan heated to approximately 170 degree C (350 degrees F). In a small mixing bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon and set aside. Butter the slices of bread on one side only and place the chopped chocolate on the unbuttered side of two slices. Sandwich it up with the other two slices’ buttered sides facing up. Press gently and place the sandwiches on the grill. Press the sandwich with a wooden spatula until the bottom side is crusty and golden. Immediately flip it over and sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture on the golden-crusty top. Once the other side is crusty too, remove and sprinkle the sugar cinnamon mixture on the other side too. Serve this rich, delicious chocolate sandwich while still hot with a scoop of ice cream!
