The style of today – are you confident enough to take a selfie? Are you cool enough to show the world what you’re doing? Is your social media account filled with pictures of you? It just might be that you are a selfie junkie!
Selfies can annoy people and some people love them. If you are one of those who don’t like taking pictures, then selfies can irritate you to no end. Selfies are classified into various types, well, by me.
The only-me selfie
Some people are on an ego trip. They love rubbing their egos by getting likes on pictures of themselves. The only-me selfies have flooded social media sites today. Neil Armstrong went to the moon and took five pictures; girls go to washrooms and take twenty pictures today!
The me-with-my-food selfie
Oooh, my food, foodgasm, instalike, instapic, lovely food, me, hashtag this, hashtag that, hashtag too many hashtags! This trend has become no less than a pain in the behind. People love taking pictures of their food with them in it. You may enjoy your food, enjoy it yourself! Why do you want others to drool! #WeDon’tCare!
The me-with-my-friends selfie or groupie or usie #whatever
Like at the Oscars, well, that was worth it, at least. But most me-with-my-friend selfies today would make more sense if it didn’t happen. Sometimes a normal picture can be taken, yet everyone wants selfies with friends. First thing is, they most often look stupid. Secondly, they most often look damn stupid!
Selfie-crazy people are taking over social media like the zombie apocalypse. If you aren’t in the boat, jump in! Or should I say, drown! What has the world come to! Why do you need a reassurance (read likes) for your self-worth? Let not how others behave affect you and what you do. You can stay away from this trend and prove to others that you aren’t insecure.
