Chicken Chilli is an Indo-Chinese recipe that has become one of our favourite fast foods in recent times. So instead of ordering it from a restaurant, try making it yourself with this super easy and quick recipe.
All You Need Is
Chicken – Boneless, 250 g
All Purpose Flour – 3 tablespoons
Corn Flour – 2-3 tablespoons
Chilli Sauce – 1 ½ teaspoon
Soya Sauce – 1 ½ teaspoon
Black Pepper – ¼ teaspoon
Salt – As Required
Egg – For Frying
Chilli Sauce/Ketchup – 1 teaspoon
Soya Sauce – ½ teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder – ½ teaspoon
Sugar – ½ teaspoon
Vinegar – 1 teaspoon
Black Pepper Powder – ¼ teaspoon (Optional)
Onion – Sliced/Cubed, 1
Bell Peppers – ½ Cup
Garlic – Chopped, 2 teaspoons
Green Chillies – Deseeded And Chopped, 2
Spring Onion – 1 Sprig
Before you begin the actual process, you will have to marinate the chicken. Without further ado, let’s get the party started!
Mix the chicken with chilli sauce, soya sauce, and salt. Mix well and let it rest for about half an hour. Meanwhile, you can get started with the veggies and the sauce. Cut the onion and bell peppers according to your convenience. For the sauce, add chilli sauce, soya sauce, red chilli powder, vinegar and sugar in a bowl and mix well.
Add corn flour and all-purpose flour to the mixture and mix really well. Add in the chilli powder. You can add in extra flour and corn flour for the extra crunch. Your chicken is now set for frying. So, in a bowl, whip the egg and coat the boneless chicken pieces with it. Carefully drop in the chicken in a pan when the oil has heated up, a few pieces at a time. Take it out of the fryer once they’re golden brown.
Once done, leave about 2 tablespoons of oil and drain the rest. Add in the chopped garlic, onions, spring onions, and bell peppers. Stir fry them until they look cooked and then add the sauce to the pan.

Once the sauce bubbles up, add in the chicken and mix well. Take it off the heat. Your spicylicious chicken chilli is ready to be served as an appetiser!
