‘Phone manners’ is a new concept that has become such a big deal thanks to the inclination of so many people towards this piece of technology. People have started getting more and more involved in their mobile phones and sometimes, we have to message each other to communicate even when in the same house. This obsession has even struck Bollywood celebrities and most of them are attached to their phones more than any other gadget they own. Let’s see what their phone manners are like.
The caller tunes
Caller tunes were a very ‘in thing’ a few years ago and many people had some songs or some funny dialogues playing instead of the boring tring tring. Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu also had a very funny tone that said ‘Hello, hello… I can’t hear you… could you speak a little louder…’ I am sure the actor might have fooled many of her friends, directors and even the unwanted callers. Urvashi Rautela, who debuted with the film ‘Singh Saheb – The Great’ last year, has a very smart caller tune. When you call her, you hear a message that says, “The number you have called is a VIP number. This call may be monitored for surveillance. Please choose your words carefully before speaking.” Now that is a smart way to keep unwanted callers away.
Shah Rukh Khan, who is obsessed with 555, has his mobile number ending with the same three digits. Rahman, Tabu, Firoz Nadiadwala and Saira Banu have to have 786 in their numbers. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor are only one number apart in their mobile numbers while the entire Oberoi family has 777 in their cell numbers.
The well mannered
Amitabh Bachchan is one celebrity who always replies to his messages. Sometimes, the reply might be delayed by a day or two, but rest assured, you will get one. Following the lines of Big B is Katrina Kaif. Katrina always replies to all her messages, no matter which part of the world she is in. SRK might not reply to all his messages, but he is in this list because whenever he does, it will be a personalized message and is sure to bring a smile to your face and so you forget all the times he did not reply. His lady love in ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’, Deepika Padukone, also makes sure to send a reply, or at least a smiley, even when she is busy. Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao also reply always. Kareena Kapoor, who is obsessed with her phone, has pretty descent phone etiquettes, unlike her husband Saif Ali Khan. Akshay Kumar, who is known to be a thorough professional, is a prompt replier.
The busy bees
There are some celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who never, no matter what you text them, reply. Even if you send her a birthday wish, do not expect a reply from her. Ranveer Singh’s phone manners have taken a turn post the success of ‘Ram Leela’. The ‘Band Baaja Baraat’ debutant does not reply to messages anymore. One of the most loved couples of Bollywood, Ajay Devgn and Kajol, do not check their phones once they are home, which is fair.
