With Valentine’s Day around the corner and theme of love being in the air, a video song called ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ from a Malayalam movie Oru Adaar Love started doing the rounds on the internet. Composed by Shaan Rahman, the video resonated with many and filled the hearts of people with nostalgia of high school romance.
Actress Priya Prakash Varrier’s expressions and especially the movement of her eyebrows in the song, while non-verbally communicating with a guy, (See clip from 1:24 sec), has become the talking point.
A while ago, Sheril G. Kadavan (Hyperlink), a teacher at the Indian School of Commerce became the internet’s favourite after performing on Malayalam song Jimikki Kammal. Her video was shared countless times, her memes were made and she became a known face overnight. Now, something similar is happening with Priya Prakash Varrier.
Hailing from Thrissur, Kerala, this 19-year-old, is currently pursuing B.Com. It is believed that Priya is also fond of Mohiniyattom – one of two classical dances of India that developed and remain popular in the state of Kerala. In fact, a video of her singing the hit Bollywood number Channa Mereya (Hyperlink) has gone viral as well.
