1) Pallivasal
Pallivasal, located at about 3 km from Chithirapuram in Munnar is the venue of the first hydro-electric project in Kerala. It is a place of immense scenic beauty and is often favoured by visitors as a picnic spot.
2) Tea Museum
Munnar is full of tea plantations. The hills and mountains are covered with it. A visit to Tata Tea Museum is a must when in Munnar. There are several scenic waterfalls in and around it. Atukkad Waterfalls, Lakkam Waterfalls, Naimakkadu Waterfalls are a few frequently visited

3) WildLife
One can visit quite a few wildlife sanctuaries in and around Munnar. Rajamala Wildlife Sanctuary, Kurinjimala Sanctuary, Pampadam Shola National Park, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary and Thattekad Bird Sanctuary are the popular ones. Thekkady Lake is famous for its wildlife and wild elephants that live nearby. You can see them by going on a boat trip. However, not many people are lucky to witness these gentle giants walking along the shore.
4) THE FOOD
Munnar is a heaven for non-vegetarian food lovers. Fish and beef (though now banned) are widely eaten in God's Own Country. Generally, Kerala style Malabar parotta and rice are accompanied by beef, fish and meat preparations. All these dishes are cooked using coconut oil and garnished with a lot of crushed coconuts.
5) Mattupetty
Another prime draw for visitors, located about 13 km from Munnar Town, is Mattupetty. Situated at a height of 1700 m above sea level, Mattupetty is known for its storage masonry dam and the beautiful lake, which offers pleasurable boat rides, enabling one to enjoy the surrounding hills and landscape. Mattupetty's fame is also attributed to the dairy farm run by the Indo-Swiss Livestock Project, where one can encounter different high yielding breeds of cows.
