6 Reasons Why Counting Calories Won't Help You Lose Weight
A lot of ‘health conscious' people must have asked you to watch your calories. Frankly, it doesn't matter how many calories your fruit or your burger has; what matters is the nutritional value they carry. However, the myth around counting calories and weight loss has prevailed for far too long to be considered a myth! If you still don't believe me, here are a few reasons why counting calories in every meal is absolutely inept!
Every Body Is Different
While everybody is different, how each of our bodies reacts to food is also different! Do you think 100 calories of fat and 100 calories of fiber will have the same effect on your body? No, right? So, skip counting calories only because the dieticians have been throwing the wrong idea for weight loss all this while!
The laws permit the brands to commit margin errors up to 20%! So, when your pack of food says 400 calories, it could possibly be 480 calories for all you know! You can never be sure of the actual calories present in your food. So, skip spinning the rims and start eating healthy without counting calories!
Weight Loss Is About Eating Right
Again, your weight is connected to the quality of food you eat and not on the calories you consume. So, if you eat a salad loaded with mayonnaise and cheese, you cannot expect to lose weight. Similarly, if consuming diet cola and sweeteners really did help, all a dieter needed to lose weight was consume these two magical items. If you genuinely improve the quality of food you eat, you will lose weight.
We Don't Absorb All Of ‘Em
Our bodies do not absorb all the calories that we have consumed. So, 20% of the calories you eat are passed out in stools. Still, think you should count your calories? Think again!

The foods you eat release various hormones; some are fat releasing hormones while some aren't. Hormones determine where the food is stored. They also control whether the food is to be turned into fat or burnt as fuel. So, the food you eat determines which hormones are released.
Just don't count calories because it's too much math! Who has the time to sit and calculate how many calories went down the throat rather than do something actually productive? And what if you miss a few numbers here and there? So, just don't!
