Somehow, cakes are what instantly come to my mind when I think of December. And since we can never say never to this baked beauty, let's talk about an easy recipe of another lip-smacking teatime treat. And those who've always wanted to bake a marble cake... rejoice! Say goodbye to the thoughts that making a marble cake would be tough ‘coz it's not. Just follow this hassle-free recipe and you're sorted.
225g butter, softened
225g powdered sugar
225g all-purpose flour (maida)
3 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp cocoa powder
Dig Into Dessert
Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius. Grease a cake tin and line the bottom. Combine all the ingredients, except the cocoa powder, in a food processor. Blend it for 2 minutes until the mixture becomes smooth. Now divide the mixture in 2 bowls. Add cocoa powder into one of them and mix well.
Alternatively, begin layering both the mixtures into the cake tin. When the entire mixture has been used up, tap the tin lightly to ensure that no air bubbles are trapped between the layers. Now comes the best part! Use a pointed knife to create a marbled effect. Bake your chocolate marble cake for around 50 minutes. Keep checking from time to time. When an inserted toothpick comes out clean, you know your culinary adventure is done :)
Devour once it cools. If you want to store it, keep it in the freezer and you're sorted for another 3 months. Oh yes, you're welcome! :)
