It's the age of the selfie! From celebrities to the commoners, everybody is going click-click-click, and social media is bombarded with crazy and awesome selfies everyday. But the truth is that for most of us, after painstakingly clicking 20 or so photos, we tend to like one. Then that photo is edited, filtered, photoshopped and finally uploaded on Instagram or Facebook. Phew! Too much for you? Don't worry!

Tilt your head: Tilting your head at a slight angle with help highlight your cheekbones making your face appear slimmer in the picture. This pose is quite flattering as it also makes your eyes look bigger.

Look for the perfect light: While clicking a selfie, if you stand in a place with ample light, then it will make your skin look amazing! So go out or stand near a window to find the perfect light for your selfie. However, do ensure that the light isn't too much, else it could also ruin your photo.

Wear makeup: Wearing makeup will give your selfie a glamorous look. Go for a bold eye (or lip) look and you'll immediately stand out!

Highlight and contour: If you're outside , and there's no ample light or it's dark out there, keep a pair of highlighting and contouring sticks handy. Swipe them on your face just before clicking the picture and it will take your selfie to the next level.

Strike a pose: If you have a signature pose then make good use of it in your selfies! If not, try holding your camera with one hand, above your eye-level and place your other hand on your hip. That should look cute! J

Go black-and-white: Avoid all other filters and choose a black-and-white instead. It will immediately make your selfie look vintage-like and give it an edge.
