Ditch Cigarettes! Here Are Other Outlets To Reduce Stress At Work
If you are a smoker, you may have this notion that smoking helps to reduce stress. This however is not necessary. Smoking may temporarily help you forget about the situation and calm you down, but it is not an outlet to reduce stress. There are many other ways you can reduce stress without the help of a cigarette. Try making a long list of all the things that get you stressed at work. An argument with a friend? Being stuck in traffic? Now's the time to prepare for them. What are you going to do when they happen? Think ahead so you're ready.
Music Is A Good Remedy:
Instead of going for a smoke when you feel stressed at work, why don't you plug in your earphones and listen to some music. Music is soothing to the ear and the mind. It helps you calm down and think clearly. So the next time you have tons of deadlines to meet and your boss is screaming down your throat, all you have to do is listen to music, block out the negativity and take in all the calmness.

Play A Game:
There are many organizations today which have some kind of recreation within the office premises – either table tennis, or carrom, or even Snakes and Ladders! Playing a game at your workspace can also be one way of reducing stress. If you are burdened with too much of work and you just want to release all the tension, a round of game is the best way to do it. You can vent out your frustration on the TT ball, coins on the board or even the snakes ;)

Didn't you know, chocolate is an outlet for some people to help reduce their stress. The best part about chocolate is that it can help you anywhere beyond your work boundaries. Imagine you're stuck in heavy traffic and you have nowhere to go; just pull out your favourite chocolate and start munching on it. (Remember to keep your favourite chocolate bar on you at all times!)
