Protein powder is one of the most recommended ways of getting extra muscle mass for the body. However, most of us just take a u-turn and walk away when we see the price tags of those huge jars kept in the rack. Well, there is a way you can get your daily source of protein, and also not burn a hole in your pocket! It's simple – make protein powder at home, instead of buying it! So here's a protein powder recipe you can try at home!
½ cup oats
½ cup quinoa
1/3 cup brown rice
½ cup lentils
½ cup wheat
½ cup barley
Let The Blending Begin:
Put all the protein grains and the shredded coconut in a coffee grinder or a spice grinder. If you don't have either of those, a regular blender can also do the powdering for you, but it may take well over 5 minutes to get the job done. You can also add a very little quantity of dry fruits like almond or cashew for a bit of added flavour. Once these ingredients are well-powdered, you are good to go for the next step involved. Now, all you have to do is add flavour to your protein powder. For this, we will need the chocolate powder and the sugar. You can flavour your protein powder with any flavour you like, though. If your flavouring agent is a powder, you can just add it to the main powder and mix it, and if it is something like freeze-dried fruits, you'd have to add them in the initial stage of blending the mixture itself.
And there we go! A simple recipe to make protein powder! Sorted, isn't it? No more going to fitness shops for that overpriced protein powder. If you make a month's worth of protein powder at home, it would hardly cost you Rs. 250-300! So, awaken the health freak in you, and get blending!
