Need-To-Know Things To Watch Out For During Sales
Sale season is loved by men and women alike… okay, okay, maybe by women just a tad bit more! ;) Either way, what is not there to love about sales? Clothing and accessories from our favourite brands at discounted rates makes even the long queues for trial rooms and billing worth it! Even so, sales can sometimes disappoint and make you feel cheated when you reach home to discover that the ripped jeans you bought, is actually torn from the crotch. Hence, here are a few things to watch out for during sales.

Could Be Last Year's Fashion
Almost all sales out there are either ‘End of season' or ‘Clearance' sales. As such, the brand is trying its best to get rid of its stock from last season, so than it can restock its stores with fresher styles and newer products. While there is no harm in shopping from End of season sales (I love them), sometimes though, the clothes up for sale have already died in terms of freshness. Just like bell bottoms were a big rage at one point, but now skinny jeans are in. So just make sure the stuff you shop for is not old-fashioned.
Could Be Defective
While no shop is going to sell you clothes that are outrageously discoloured or very evidently torn, you will be surprised to know the amount of slightly defective products they do put up for sale. Now no one is saying this practice by the stores is right, but it happens. So the best thing we as shoppers need to do is make sure that we don't get blinded by the 70% discount label; we should check every inch of the product for a possible nick or tear. This is the only way to ensure that you are purchasing a proper piece.

They Might Not Exchange
Another reason to be extremely sure that the product you purchased is not defected is most shops do not exchange the items sold during a sale. So, like normal shopping, you cannot just buy something, go home, try it on, decide you don't like it, and then exchange it the next day. Sale time means goods once sold are sold for good. So, be certain of your purchase decisions so that you don't end up regretting them later.

Is it Really Discounted?
I won't say always, but at times some outlets create a false hike in their prices just before sale, so that they can actually sell the items for its original price during a sale. Get what I mean? So, if a top's MRP is INR 700, a day or so before sale they will hike the price to say INR 1400, and during the sale "bring it down" to INR 700 and put on a label of 50% discount! So, watch out for such tactics during a sale, to make sure that you are not being cheated. This practice often happens in online sales, so a good idea is to note down the MRP of the products you adore pre-sale, so that you know for sure if or not they are being offered at a discounted rate.
So, these are a few things to watch out for during sales. Keep these in mind to make the most of sale season, and bag your favourite items!
