Problems Of Left-handed People The World Needs To Understand
Around 10% of the total world population is left handed. Most of the mass-manufactured items and fixtures in day-to-day life are designed keeping these 10% of individuals completely out of their mind. Door handles are placed for the convenience of right-handed people and scissors are designed for the comfort of the righty as well, amongst many other. Here are a few problems of left-handed individuals that most of the world is completely oblivious to.
Single Seat Desks
Remember those single-seat benches in your classroom that was so perfectly designed to comfort every RIGHT-HANDED student. Complete nightmare! There is absolutely no way a leftie can be at ease on such a seat especially so if he is expected to take down notes.
Sharing A Desk
One would think that not having to sit in the single-seat desk will solve all problems, but not if you are made to sit next to a righty. You will end up constantly bumping elbows with your desk partner and not to mention those unkind glares he or she will give you for something that you are most definitely not doing intentionally.
The method of writing was more or less invented from the perspective of a righty. No matter how much you try, eventually, when you are done writing, you will have palms that are smudged with ink. Not only does this make your hands dirty it also totally ruins your page. Even pencils don't work for you; you will end up with silver hands.
Gaming remotes again are designed to suit a right-handed player. If you are a lefty who is into gaming, you sure as hell know the pain I'm talking about. No matter how hard you try, chances are that the right-handed friend you are playing with will win just because he is right-handed.
The computer, a device all of us use every day, again does no favour for the left-handed. The keyboard, the mouse, all is perfect for the righty but not so much for the lefty. The clicks are so often wrong and the number pad is on the extreme right! Absolute nightmare!
The only two ways you can successfully learn the guitar is if you train your right hand extremely well to play the strings or you spend extra cash and go buy a guitar especially designed for left-handed people. There is no third way.
