Should You Do Cardio Before Breakfast? We Tell You!
We all have to agree on one thing – if we had all respected our bodies enough and taken good care of them, then weight loss wouldn't really have been such a big deal. A lazy lifestyle combined with all the junk we gobble up ends up as that surplus mass of fat that just doesn't go. This obesity has led to people resorting to lame and ineffective weight loss methods, which may simply not work. One of these would be doing cardio first thing after waking up, without a single bite of food in your system. If you think it works, then think again! Here's all you need to know about cardio before breakfast and what it can do to you.

Your Metabolism Does Not Operate On An Empty Stomach
When you work out, your body relies on the fuel it gets, i.e. the nutrients present. The first ones that the body turns to are carbohydrates. Since you haven't eaten before the morning cardio, the fats and sugar will be the alternative fuel. Now, the fats and sugars exhaust pretty quickly and the body ends up using the proteins and amino acids in your muscles, which is pretty dangerous for you. Even if you see weight loss happening, what you are losing is a negligible amount of fat and massive amount of muscle. Hence, you HAVE to eat before your workout.
Your Pre-Workout Meal Does Not Determine Weight Loss
Well, if you bingeeat junk food before your workout, it will be a problem. However, a decent meal before your workout is not bad at all. Exercise basically adds to your daily calorie expenditure. For example, if you were burning 300 calories without any exercise, the workout may increase the number to 600 calories. Now, if your daily intake is over the expenditure, you will definitely not lose weight. Create a decent and healthy calorie deficit, and your weight loss will be smooth and steady. The pre-workout food does not really cause that much of a weight gain.

Set Your Diet According To Your Cardio Regime
If you're into a low or non-carb diet, then you'll miserably fail when it comes to high-intensity exercises. Even during low to moderate cardio, you'll feel intensely weaker. So, if you want to pump it up in spite of that low carb supply, sip on a protein shake before you begin. Thank me later!
Don't Blindly Follow Professional Bodybuilders
Bodybuilders already have a very low body fat percentage, and the cardio before breakfast diet just helps them go lower during events like competitions. It's pretty safe to assume that a person looking for weight loss has over 20% fat in the system, and you'd never be able to match those bodybuilders' workouts due to the difference between your bodies and theirs. So, stop blindly following them and think smartly!
