Mascara:
Your best bet is to toss out your tube of mascara after 4-5 months. However, if you notice that it has begun to dry earlier than its expiry date, add in a few drops of baby oil or saline solution to your tube and twirl it around. This will hydrate the dried-up mascara making it usable again.
Also, when applying your mascara, don't pump your applicator wand in and out. Instead, twirl the wand inside the tube to prevent the growth of bacteria and also to not let the mascara dry easily.
Eyeliners:
If you use pencil eyeliner, always restore its cap once you are done applying the liner to prevent the lead from breaking. Also, sharpen them often for the perfect application. If you feel it tugging on your skin, then warm it up with a hair dryer or above a flame for a few seconds. This will make the lead melt just enough to give you a smooth application.
If you use gel-based liners that come in pots, just pop the pot in the microwave for a few seconds and the dried-up liner will be usable once again.

Nail Polish:
A good way to get the most of your nail paint's life is by storing the bottles in the fridge. This keeps them good and usable for a longer time. And, if you notice your nail colour has separated into two layers or has become thick then just add a few drops of nail polish thinner and swirl it well to get it back to its proper consistency.
Also, while applying the nail polish, a better option to shaking your nail paint bottle up and down is to rub the bottle between your palms.
Lipstick:
If the top part of your lipstick has broken up, or maybe you have used up your lipstick right to the very bottom and have got no way to use it anymore, here is what you can do. Take the broken lipstick and pop into a small empty container. Heat it up with a blow dryer until it melts and takes the shape of the container.
You can now use your lipstick again; all you need is a brush. Also, it can now be doubled up as a cream blush.
Perfumes:
The one rule with perfumes it to keep it away from heat and light. Always store it in a cool place away from sunlight. Sunlight can cause a chemical reaction in your perfume by oxidizing it and thus changing the way it smells. So take special care here!
Eye Shadow:
If you have cracked your eye shadow, bronzer, etc and it is still within its expiry date, then don't chuck it away. Spray a little rubbing alcohol on it and using the back of a spoon or any other smooth flat surface press it into the shadow/bronzer. This will join the crack pieces easily and make it as good as new, just give it some time to dry completely before usage.
