These Bollywood Movies Proved SRK Is Not Just A Romantic Hero
“Woh sirf star nahin hai, duniya hai meri” is said by many for one and one only person only and i.e. Shah Rukh Khan, the Badshah of Bollywood, who made a place in everyone's heart from the time he stepped in Bollywood. His cute smile, the way he makes your heart melt, and his mesmerizing looks are breath-taking. Within no time, the superstar made a place in each and everyone’s heart.
Today as Shah Rukh Khan rings his 53rd birthday, we want to remind you of these movies of SRK (not that you must have forgotten them) that proved what versatile of an actor he is, I mean he can be an action hero, he can be a ghost and he can be a creepy villain too and how he still oozes charm:
1) Hey Ram
Hey Ram is a period drama where Shah Rukh plays the role of Amjad Ali Khan, an archeologist, who later becomes a victim of the partition. This character is a Muslim man, who believes in love and peace. He helps change an assassin's mind who is about to commit a murder. Gandhi, in the film, is killed by another assassin, Nathuram Godse, but the message of the film was quite clearly projected.
2) Swades
Director Ashutosh Gowariker’s acclaimed drama featured Shah Rukh as a NASA employee who returns to his Indian village and finds purpose in life.
3) Asoka
Asoka is a historical drama where King Khan plays the character of Emperor Asoka of the Maurya Dynasty. His character is aggressive, smart and brave. The movie features one of the most difficult and different characters that SRK has pulled off.
4) Don and Don 2
Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the Don movies went on to become two of the biggest films of SRK’s career, and established him as more than just a romantic hero, but also an action star.
5) Chak De!
Shah Rukh’s much quoted film enjoys a great life post release, with its songs played at nearly every patriotic event and its repeated screenings on important national holidays. Shah Rukh’s intense performance (and facial hair) captured the audience’s imagination.
6) Ra. One
SRK called this movie his dream project. A science fiction which shows SRK in the role of a techie and a superhero. The titular character is the antagonist of a digital game, Ra.One, who comes alive because of added artificial intelligence. And the protagonist, G.One, played by SRK saves the day. The film was made with one of the highest budgets at the time of release.
7) Fan
My personal favorite of SRK movies. He didn’t just nailed in terms of acting in this one but he acting in four dimensions (remember the scene where SRK A.K.A Aryan Khanna is on stage as Gaurav acting as Aryan Khanna? Yes that’s four dimensions people!). Many critics referred SRK's work as one of his best performances till date.
8) Dear Zindagi
There are only a few movies that star Shah Rukh but not in a lead role (except his cameos, of course). This film, however, is one of the exceptions. He plays the role of a counselor and psychologist who helps a girl treat her insomnia and her phobia. Kaira (Alia Bhatt's character) proposes to him after the treatment. His reaction to the proposal was refreshing for viewers who are usually subjected to the stereotyped happy endings.
TBD wishes the KING KHAN of Bollywood a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY <3
