Toxic People To Watch Out For At Your Workplace
Workplaces are really fun when you love your job and your colleagues. But there is always that one person (there could be more), who manages to make your work-life a living nightmare. These toxic people somehow manage to defy logic every single time they start speaking. They manage to piss every single co-worker off by their mere presence. So, how do you deal with such people? You don't! All you can do on your part is to ignore their existence. Don't give them that one thing they want so badly – attention. However, here are some categories of people you need to watch out for at work. Their toxicity can vary, but, who likes dealing with such people anyway?
The Bossy Kind
This person is from one of the most common categories. Every office has that one person who thinks of themselves as the boss, and most of the times, they aren't. They will try to be your boss and give orders. Now, it is up to you how you show them that they are not your boss, in style.
The Gossip Queen/King
The only time this person speaks is when they are either looking for new topics to gossip or they already have the gossip and they are trying to get it off of their chest so they can sleep peacefully. This person could be a new employee but wouldn't hesitate to ask about the latest gossip going around in the office. They land up in big trouble because of their undying desire to gossip all the time. You need to stay away from them because there is a high chance they will pull you down with them.
The Over-friendly "Friend"
This one person tries to be over-friendly all the time. They are either trying to get to know you a little too personally or they just can't keep their hands to themselves. Though they are "your friend", they get offended at the slightest behavior change from your side. It is better to avoid these people as they might misuse your polite nature.
The Work Off-loader
This person will not hesitate in loading you with their share of work and sit idle. The only way to get rid of them is to tell them to do their work while you are doing yours. Once you start taking their share of the workload out of courtesy, they will act like the donkey who tried to act smart by falling into the river with the sack of salt.
Before you start to wonder how is networking a negative thing, let me tell you, this person is in the office with just one purpose – networking. They would happily leave all their work to go speak to someone and find out if that person will be of further use to them. They're like a bee buzzing around in the office passing the time in the name of networking.
The Attention Seeker
I bet you were wondering why we have not mentioned this category until now. Well, here it is! The attention seeker will do anything to either get attention from the rest of the co-workers or from the boss. They have their own tricks of getting attention from the people around them.

This category goes hand-in-hand with the attention seekers. They could have visited a foreign land once and they will never stop speaking about how everything was so much better at the place they visited!
This person will make sure that you don't finish your work, as they haven't done theirs! You need to keep a close eye on the distracter, as they will easily distract you from your work. Beware!

The Constant Critic
This person is never satisfied with the work others are doing. They will make you redo the report 20 times just to get one thing right. And most of the times, this person isn't even sure the reason why he is criticizing the work in the first place!
This person will always keep an eye on others' desks and is usually best friends with the gossip king/queen! They will have the latest updates on the whereabouts of others.
If you can think of certain names as soon as you read the pointers, you know whom to stay away from! If you're lucky, only one person from your office fits each category. But, I really pity the ones who have to deal with that one person who has all these traits in them!
