Vegetarian GM Diet Plan For The Healthy Indian
I bet most of you have at some point heard of the GM diet and some of you might have tried it too. The GM diet is a good way to drop extra pounds fast, especially to get rid of all your water retention in particular. It involves you eating only one food group per day as prescribed in the 7-day diet plan. However, for the vegetarian Indians, this diet seems pointless since a crucial part of Day 5 and 6 requires you to eat meats like chicken and fish. Like the regular GM diet, Day 1 is all about fruits. Gorge on all your favourite fruits all day long, just avoid bananas though. Eat as many fruits as you want whenever you feel hungry. While except banana you are free to consume any other fruit, eating fruits like melons that have a high percentage of water is better. Also, along with the fruit, drink up to 8-10 glasses of water without fail.

Vegetables, vegetables and more vegetables – that is your diet for Day 2. Eat up on as many raw veggies as you can; just skip potatoes from the list. Carrots, cucumbers, blanched greens, etc the choice is limitless. And if you are craving potatoes real bad, then indulging in a steamed and mashed up a cauliflower with a little bit of salt and pepper. While it won't be as decadent as creamy mashed potatoes, it does wonders to calm your craving.

Today you can have a mixture of the sweet things and the not-so-sweet things. What we mean is, today is a mixture of Day 1 and Day 2's diet. Gorge on as many fresh fruits and veggies as you can, you can even juice them if you like, just don't add any sweeteners to it. Also, this day will satiate your starch craving as you are allowed to have a hot boiled potato with a sliver of butter on it first thing in the morning.
I don't see how you would crave anything sweet, with all the fruits you have been eating. But in case you do, you won't after Day 4. Today, all you have to eat is bananas and drink milk. But yes, unlike the other days, this day isn't like an all-you-can-eat buffet. Your limit is 8 medium bananas and 4 glasses of milk. Divide this portion into equal parts so that you can satiate your hunger through the day. Don't forget the 8-10 glasses of water though.
This day is all about protein and tomatoes. Now, the regular GM diet urges you to have tomatoes along with a lean source of protein such as fish or chicken breast on this day; don't worry though; we have veg alternatives. Now, tomatoes you must eat, at least 12 medium ones through the day. Along with it, you can eat small portions of raw cottage cheese (paneer), tofu or soya soup today, to make up for the protein part of the diet… and of course, plenty of water.
Today is much like day 5, only it's even better. You still get to munch on yummy raw cottage cheese, tofu and soya; however you need not limit your veggie intake to tomatoes alone. Along with the protein rich foods, you can eat any other vegetable you want today, except potatoes of course. So, eat up!
By the 7th day you will surely notice a visible difference in your overall weight. You will have definitely dropped pounds if you followed the diet to the T. On this last day of diet, give the protein a rest, and concentrate on the veggies instead. Today you must eat veggies along with brown rice. So make a yummy brown rice pulav filled with veggies sautéed in minimum oil and salt.
You are certainly going to feelproud of yourself on the 8th morning after successfully completing the vegetarian GM diet. Just remember if you want the weight to stay down, don't go out to eat pizza today. Maintain a balance, eat healthy and drink plenty of water every day, else you will put on all the weight almost as fast as you lost it! All the best!
