Vision Board - An Essential Tool To Achieve Your Dreams
There is one thing common in all of us: Everyone wants to be happy and successful. The thing about success is that its definition varies from person to person. For an entrepreneur, it is the establishment and growth of his/her business. For a mother, it may be the successful career and happiness of her child. Whatever your goals are, you got to have a vision board.
Over the years, I have read a lot of self-improvement books and lot of seminars on the tools to become happy and successful. The one thing common in most of the successful people is that they have well-defined goals and vision. Most of them have a vision board.
Anyone and everyone can define and make a vision board for themselves. It doesn't matter if you are a 9-year-old school kid or a 55-year-old man waiting for retirement, you can still make a vision board and carefully create the rest of your life.
According to the popular book The Secret, "The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts. When you are visualizing, you are emitting a powerful frequency out into the Universe."
In today's world, you will find a lot of people who will pull you down. So it becomes your own responsibility to get back up and motivate yourself. According to my definition, a vision board is a tool to help you define success for yourself. It is putting into paper what success and happiness feel to you. I created my vision board in the year 2015 and trust me, my only regret is why I never actually did this earlier.
So here are a few tips and steps to create a very own vision board:
1: Choose a chart paper. For me, choosing the right color of chart paper is very important. Since it is your own vision board, you can completely choose how you want it to be. It can be simple or glittery.
2: Include as many images as possible. For eg: I like travelling, so my vision board has the pictures of places I like to go and things I would like to do. Instead of writing I want to visit London, a picture of London bridge would have more impact.
3: Write your goals instead of typing. When you are writing, you are bringing in more energy into that.
4: Also include feelings into the vision. For example, instead of writing I want to lose 10 kg, write I want to feel 10 Kg lighter and fitter.
5: Hang or place your vision board where you can see it daily. When you see your goals daily, eventually you will start acting on fulfilling them.
6: Keep updating and making a new vision board. This may seem strange but what might be your vision 5 years ago may not necessarily be important in your life now. And it does happen that your vision became your reality and you require to create new goals.
So that's it, guys. I hope this might have helped you give yourself a little nudge to actually START doing something and turn your distant dreams into achievable goals and eventually a reality. I really hope each and every one of us become successful and happy. Cheers!
