On World Music Day, Let's Celebrate The Artists That Inspired Millions With Their Music
World Music Day sheds light on the importance of music and how it helps people connect across borders. Various musicians perform for free and showcase the power of music on this day. Aspiring singers and young players mesmerize listeners by playing their instruments in public or recreational areas. It has slowly become a part of pop culture and this day is celebrated in more than 32 countries as one of the most important summer events. That being said, let's talk about artists that touch our soul with their art of music. That take people out of their depression and inspire them to do great in life. We have many artists in this world but only a handful that actually express and show us what real music is and what powers does music holds that can even make the dead alive.
1) Michael Jackson
It has been 5 years since this music legend left us yet his music lives on with us. When America first met Jackson, he was a lovable, pint-sized pre-teen with a puffy Afro and an electric voice. Through the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s, Jackson held onto the earnestness he had as the frontman of the Jackson Five. Back then, it was impossible to hate Jackson. He was just so likable. When he sang "We are the ones who make a brighter day / So let's start giving" in "We Are the World," you believed him. He made you believe him and that is what made him so different from the others.
2) Dr. Dre
More than any other rapper, Dr. Dre was responsible for moving away from the avast-noise and political stance of Public Enemy and Boogie Down Productions as well as the party vibes of old-school rap. Instead, Dre pioneered gangsta rap and his own variation of the sound, G-funk. On his own, he reworked George Clinton's elastic funk into the self-styled G-funk, a slow-rolling variation that relied more on sound than content.
3) Adele
Adele is one of the most successful and highest-paid female musicians of our time. Her music videos have billions of views and her albums have become diamond certified. Musical achievements aside, she is also praised for embracing her natural beauty and being a humble artist. Her music is intense and slow and lyrics hard hitting. She is known for her confidence that she passes onto her fans as well, for them to be confident in life and achieve greatness.
4) Kanye West
This is a man whom, you'll either love or hate him completely. Full on raw and too real for this world, Kanye West is not afraid to say whatever he feels like. He does not worry what others will say about him. He operates on the "no filter" system, which at times can be bad, but we all need to learn not to lose sleep over the opinions of others. His albums are always different, and you never know what to expect next. Year after year he continues to put out new songs that are different from the last ones, but never seem to get old. Kanye cares about the future, and tries to give people a good outlook on life through his work and speeches.
5) Linkin Park
We usually have our own opinions about people committing suicide but we often forget that in a way or two we neglected the reason behind it all – depression. We've lost many to this plague and it continues to swallow many more. Chester Bennington was one of them, but he might be gone, his words linger on. I think it's safe to say that even though we were not a punk rock fan, everyone who was actively tuning to the radio back in the 90s will not deny that they would jam along to Linkin Park's songs because they were all that relatable. Every life situations that a normal teenager would go through was all pen down and rocked on musical notes.
6) XXXTentacion
On World's Music Day, we remember XXXTentacion. For he left us too soon, it wasn't his time to go. His life was so much messed up, he was surrounded with negativity yet he kept making music that spread so much positivity to many. His music was far too real for this world. He inspired people, his words, his tunes, his songs, everything made people to fight their own battles with confidence. He spread the message to NOT GIVE UP. XXXTentacion always said, I wanna inspire millions of people and want to help those who are going through depression, as he was one of those who battled depression every single day. Wish we could get more days with such a great artist that created art for not just ownself but for others. He lived for others!
