You Need To Be On A Look Out For These New Rom-Coms Of This Year
It really is the era of rom-coms this year. With Netflix coming up with many YA book adaptions of teen dramas and love stories, we have a list of few more stories, that should be on your must-watch list! We’ve already witness the frenzy created by “Kissing Booth” and “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before”, these are the hidden gems of the new age rom-coms for all the romance genre lover fans out there! Check em out:
1) Love, Simon
An adorable, heart-achingly warm and sweet story of a teenage boy coming to terms with his sexuality as a gay man, coming out and navigating his first (online) romance - along with all of the other dramas that naturally occur in your teens. This movie is a must watch for all the queer audiences, keep your tissues ready :’)
2) The Stand In
I, personally can’t wait for this one. My recent crush of “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before”, Noah Centineo is the lead opposite my lady crush from “Riverdale”, Camila Mendes. This film is set to be released in the next few months, and follows Noah's character Brooks as he creates a dating app where he plays the role of 'the stand-in' boyfriend for every kind of situation to help girls out. We don't want to guess that it's a totally typical rom-com with a happy ending where the two leads fall in love.
3) Set It Up
If you haven’t yet, you definitely should. Another stellar outing from Netflix is the brilliant Set It Up. Starring Taye Diggs and Lucy Liu as two bosses and Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell as their two assistants, it's a hilarious tale with massive surprises (we won't do spoilers!), twists, turns, drama, cheating, laughs and emotion as everyone involved hopes to find true love but don't know where to look for it - or when they already are.
4) Destination Wedding
Well, this one’s not a teenage rom com but trust me you’d wanna see this one. Starring Keanu Reeves and Winona, Destination Wedding is a story about two pessimistic wedding guests consistently complaining about everything. It’s refreshing to see Keanu away from all the action and in such a comic role. The trailer seems promising and it already is giving us all the feels.
5) Crazy Rich Asians
Crazy Rich Asians is going to be the biggest, flashiest and perhaps most ridiculously good rom-com that has hit the big screen in years. Based on the best-selling novel, it's set to be an ultra-glam affair of surprises and madness.
Let us know your all time favorite rom coms that you’ve probably watched a 100 times.
